Rabbi Zeff and Student Rabbi Pulzetti will facilitate this group for GJC members who are cantors and rabbis. We will study the rabbinic principle lifnei m'shurat ha-din: going beyond the letter of the law. The rabbis applied this when, in their view, strict application of the law would bring an unethical result. We'll discuss how these concepts might apply to ethical and legal challenges today.
